For those of you who do not know what this is... well the ENTIRE 82nd Airborne Division, and that means about 15,000 soldiers were on the field to Pass and be Reviewed by the Commander in Cheif, which is the President of the United States. I have written what each picture is so you can see. Basically they are all out there and lined up by company and when the President walks down and back then they will do the pass. They march by and all salute at the given bugle command. It is really neat to see. This doesn't happen that often so you really need to go when you have the chance.
Anyway back in May when everyone came to NC for my graduation it was also All American week. The 82nd is also known as All Americans that is what the AA is. They have a lot of things going on for people to see. It is really just an all about the AA week, so family and friends come from near and far to see the guys jump out of airplanes, and this is a reunion time for retired soldiers to get together and there is a Division run which means all 15000 soldiers run 4 1/2 miles and you can see this... it is a spectacle to behold, but really cool!!!
THis is a week full of tournaments for the active duty guys. There are breakfasts for the reunions and balls, this is a crazy week of fun filled activities. The chorus will end up playing anywhere from 30-40 shows. If you ever have the chance you need to go.
This is of the soldiers lined up from the left to the right, but you are only seeing a portion of them.
There are a lot of retired soldiers in the front here you can see, and all the way in the back to the right is the patrol who will walk with the president when he is ready.
here is the second portion of the group of soldiers from the left. getting ready to walk as you see the band there is marching already...
Static display of aircraft and vehicles...from right is blackhawk, then apache and I can't tell but guessing a kiowa on the far left. (I wasn't there for this so not sure)
